We are RECRUITING staff to help with various farm and field jobs throughout the summer. We have long and short-term contracts available, from just a week to a month or more. Local farms and some further afield with camping on site. Great experience, great for the CV, great for the bank account and great fun. For more than forty years Van Stomp Ltd have been providing temporary workers to help out in farms, fields and factories. We are based in Cambridge which is about 30km north of Stansted Airport and 80km north of London. We provide staff to clients all over the UK so you could end up working anywhere. Our main locations include:
Production Order Picker
A seed factory is looking for an Order Picker to help with Production.You will need to check orders and find the correct seed and take the seed through to the Machine Operators. No experience necessary.
Hours: Monday – Friday 7am – pm (Overtime during busy times)
Pay rate: £ 9.12 per hour and £ 13.68 overtime per hour
Fork Lift Drivers
We are looking for Counterbalance Fork Lift Drivers
Hours: 47.50 hours per week
Monday – Friday 8.30am to 6.30pm
Duties include: Receiving goods into stock, Despatching courier orders, Replenishing picking bays. Forklift Licence essential
Pay Rate: £10.85 per hour
The job is in a friendly seed factory.The job involves packing seeds into smaller packets via a machine.Some factory experience is preferable but not essential as full training is provided on the job.
Hours: 7.00 AM – 3 PM or 3 PM – 11 PM or 11PM to 7 AM
Occasionally an additional Saturday shift is required.
Pay Rate: Dependent of shift.
We are recruiting skilled tractor drivers for harvest work. Candidates must have recent experience.A full driving licence will be required.Long hours, good pay (according to experience and job), accommodation available
The successful candidate should be numerate, have good I.T skills, an eye for detail and be willing to turn their hand to many different tasks within our internal production and QC flow. A forklift licence would be a benefit although training could be given to the right candidate.Key responsibilities/Tasks will include: Collecting stock from production daily. Recording and checking stock produced in line with our QC procedures. Passing of stock to dispatch both physically and through oracle. Unloading and storage of consumables, outwork & non seed components. Reporting to the Supply chain planner, scheduler and analyst you would be working as part of a dedicated Support & QC team.
We are looking for a Labourer to join a professional team of fencers.We are looking for someone physically fit, hard working, honest, reliable and prepared to work outdoors at all times. Must have a clean drivers licence. Training will be provided where required. Experience with agricultural machinery would be an advantage. Chainsaw certificate would be useful – if not training will be provided. Description of some of the work you will carry out. Fencing, Agricultural, ground clearance, light building and maintenance.
Hours: 7.30am – 4pm (39hour week), plenty of overtime.
Pay Rate: Starting at £10 per hour (dependent on experience).
